Devils and Waterfalls.
We started by saying 'good morning' to the local Wombat, who was very hungry and cared not a bit about us. Then we went to Devils at Cradle to meet and learn about the Tasmanian Devils. They face extinction because of a new kind of facial cancer that spreads through (violent) contact: Devil Facial Tumor Disease. These critters like their Quoll cousins are so cute and predatory and wonderful. After our visit, we hiked the paths around our hotel, Cradle Mountain Lodge, saw the 3 big waterfalls, and made some more animal friends. We are going to miss this wonderful place.
